Wedding Garments

Scripture: 10 So the servants went out into the city streets and invited everyone to come to the wedding feast, good and bad alike, until the banquet hall was crammed with people! 11 Now, when the king entered the banquet hall, he looked with glee over all his guests. But then he noticed a guest who was not wearing the wedding robe provided for him. 12 So he said, ‘My friend, how is it that you’re here and you’re not wearing your wedding garment?’ But the man was speechless. 13 “Then the king turned to his servants and said, “Tie him up and throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be great sorrow, with weeping and grinding of teeth. 14 For everyone is invited to enter in, but few respond in excellence.” (Matthew 22:10-14 The Passion) As we look at this story Jesus told, we can understand that God is the king who prepares the kingdom feast for His Son, Jesus Christ. He sends His prophets (messenger-servants) to summon the people to enter into the love feast of Jesus. It is all about the wedding of the Lamb to the bride of Christ. Those who were invited off the streets had no time or opportunity to buy wedding clothes. The wedding robe that is provided is a picture of the garment of righteousness that grace provides for us. The one who did not put on the wedding garment, was not willing to change into it. What a picture for us! The grace of God is there for us, but it requires for us to be willing to change and have a new way of thinking and living. Thank You, Father, for this picture, this reminder. Your grace is available. I want to be willing to make the changes necessary to live with Your grace in my life. AMEN Thank You, Lord, for being my best friend and my shepherd. I always have more than enough. You offer me a resting place in Your luxurious love and take me to an oasis of peace where You revive and restore my life. Psalm 23
