Watch The Children Grow
Scripture:
18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given complete authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20 NLT)
I read this portion of Scripture again as we were spending time with both our daughters and their families over the USA Thanksgiving holidays. As I was reading this familiar scripture, these are some thoughts that came to me. When our grandsons, Jesse, Jude, and Zane were born, there was not even a whisper of a thought that they would be left to raise/grow themselves. They would have all the love and help that they would need for that process. And yet, when a person is born again to begin a new life with God, we so often leave them to find the way themselves. Just watching Jesse, Jude, and Zane as we have been with them, I am delighting in seeing them grow and learn new things; new words, new ways of doing things, sharing together, and being so happy with their family around them. I think about new Christians, those who have someone who loves them, and is helping them to grow, and how much fun it is to just and see them experience God, and all the new things that brings into their lives. Watching the children grow is so much fun; both in the spiritual and natural!
Lord, thank You so much for family; for the fun and joy there is in being together and watching the young ones grow and learn. Help me to delight in the new babies in the Lord, and give me opportunity to help them learn and grow. I love You, and all You are to me, and to my family. AMEN
Father, I thank You that You are my God, and that I can call You my Father. You are great and good, and Your love continues forever. Psalm 118
