Trust And Contentment
Scripture:
1 A song for the ascent to Jerusalem. A psalm of David. LORD, my heart is not proud; my eyes are not haughty. I don’t concern myself with matters too great or awesome for me. 2 But I have stilled and quieted myself, just as a small child is quiet with its mother. Yes, like a small child is my soul within me. 3 O Israel, put your hope in the LORD— now and always. (Psalm 131 NLT)
This is a very significant Psalm for this time in the world in which we live. There are certainly matters too great for me to deal with, or even think about. I want to have quiet trust in God, and to put my hope in Him only. There are too many things that I have no control over, but I can trust in, and put my hope, in God.
5 the LORD God Almighty, the LORD is his name! 6 So now, come back to your God! Act on the principles of love and justice, and always live in confident dependence on your God. (Hosea 12:5-6 NLT)
Lord, this is where I want to be: living in confident dependence on You. I want to have quiet trust in You. I want my soul to be quiet because of my trust and confidence in You, my God and my Strength. I trust You, and I love You. AMEN
I will praise my Lord and God my savior! For each day He carries me in His arms. He is a God who saves! He is an awesome God! Psalm 68
