True Patience
Scripture:
1 James, a servant of God and the Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, to the twelve tribes of Israel who are spread across the earth: I send you my warmest welcome! 2 – 4 Don’t run from tests and hardships, brothers and sisters. As difficult as they are, you will ultimately find joy in them; if you embrace them, your faith will blossom under pressure and teach you true patience as you endure. And true patience brought on by endurance will equip you to complete the long journey and cross the finish line —mature, complete, and wanting nothing. 5 If you don’t have all the wisdom needed for this journey, then all you have to do is ask God for it; and God will grant all that you need. He gives lavishly and never scolds you for asking. (James 1:1-5 The Voice)
As Christians, we have a race to run, a journey to take. This takes true patience. It certainly is not one quick step or an easy formula, this journey. True patience comes by staying with something through the trials and pressures of life. And beyond that, God has given us the privilege of asking Him for the wisdom that we will need. How amazing is His willingness to grant us wisdom if we will only ask!
Lord God, it is my desire to, with true patience, stay the course. Thank You that You have not left me on my own. You have given Your truths in Your Word, and You give me wisdom as I ask You for it. Thank You. AMEN
I will sing praises to Your name, O Most High. I am filled with joy because I know and love You. I thank You with all my heart. Psalm 9
