Surrender To My Ways

Scripture: 23 Jesus said to all of his followers, “If you truly desire to be my disciples, you must disown your life completely, embrace my ‘cross’ as your own, and surrender to my ways. 24 For if you choose self-sacrifice, giving up your lives for my glory, you will embark on a discovery of more and more of true life. But if you choose to keep your lives for yourselves, you will lose what you try to keep. 25 Even if you gained all the wealth and power of this world, everything it could offer you, yet lose your soul in the process, what good is that? 26 So why are you ashamed of being my disciple? Are you ashamed of the revelation-truth I give to you? (Luke 9:23-16 The Passion) We all seem to have the way we think we should live life, especially our personal lives. So much in the world pushes us toward thoughts of what is good and best; what we ‘need’, how we should live. But Jesus clearly says here that we should surrender to His ways. This is a day by day growing in our lives as we open our hearts to His teachings. Truly what Isaiah says is so very true. “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.”(Isaiah 8:55 NLT) Lord God, thank You for Your ways and that You continue to teach us so that we can more and more surrender to them. AMEN So I will trust You, Father, for You are my only true hero, the wrap-around God who is my shield. I trust You because You never forget me in my need and continue to bless me. Psalm 115
