Story To Write
Scripture:
1 My spiritual brothers and sisters, if one of our faithful has fallen into a trap and is snared by sin, don’t stand idle and watch his demise . Gently restore him, being careful not to step into your own snare. 2 Shoulder each other’s burdens, and then you will live as the law of the Anointed teaches us. 3 Don’t take this opportunity to think you are better than those who slip because you aren’t; then you become the fool and deceive even yourself. 4 Examine your own works so that if you are proud, it will be because of your own accomplishments and not someone else’s. 5 Each person has his or her own burden to bear and story to write. (Galatians 6:1-5 The Voice)
We can be prone as humans to look at others and think; “I wouldn’t do that, I wouldn’t make that mistake, or even I am so glad that is not me”. As Paul says in this last chapter of Galatians, we all have our own burden or story to write. We need to be careful that we do not try to write someone else’s story. We each have our challenges and personal accomplishments and that is our story. We just need to be careful what our story is saying.
Lord, I love the story You have allowed Jim and me and our family to write. As this story continues, help us all to do (write) our part of it in grace and faith. You have been so very good to us, and I am so thankful. AMEN
Father, because what You truly want is my true thanks to You, that is what I give today. It is a sacrifice that truly honors You. Psalm 50
