Make Every Effort
Scripture:
5 So make every effort to apply the benefits of these promises to your life. Then your faith will produce a life of moral excellence. A life of moral excellence leads to knowing God better. 6 Knowing God leads to self-control. Self-control leads to patient endurance, and patient endurance leads to godliness. 7 Godliness leads to love for other Christians, and finally you will grow to have genuine love for everyone. (2 Peter 1:5-7 NLT)
14 And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen, make every effort to live a pure and blameless life. And be at peace with God. (2 Peter 3:14 NLT)
The Christian life is more than just knowing about Jesus and what He did for us. It should be about growing, and becoming more and more like Jesus. When we came to know Jesus Christ, this is what he gave us; 3 As we know Jesus better, his divine power gives us everything we need for living a godly life. He has called us to receive his own glory and goodness! (2 Peter 1:3 NLT) With that, we truly must make every effort to live a godly life, and grow in our love for others. Each day, God gives me opportunities to put the gifts of His glory and goodness into practice, and it is up to me to make the effort to do just that. I choose at each opportunity whether I will make the effort, and grow a little bit more.
I want to make the effort; I want to grow. I want to be a Godly person. Help me, God, as I make every effort. I love You for being a God that is with me every day, and always present to help. AMEN
Father, truly Your ways are holy. There is no other as mighty as You. You are the God of miracles and wonders. You always demonstrate Your awesome power. Psalm 77
