Get Yourself Ready

Scripture: 13 So get yourselves ready, prepare your minds to act, control yourselves, and look forward in hope as you focus on the grace that comes when Jesus the Anointed returns and is completely revealed to you. 14 Be like obedient children as you put aside the desires you used to pursue when you didn’t know better. 15 Since the One who called you is holy, be holy in all you do. 16 For the Scripture says, “You are to be holy, for I am holy.” 17 If you call on the Father who judges everyone without partiality according to their actions, then you should live in reverence and awe while you live out the days of your exile. (1 Peter 1:13-17 The Voice) Why should we get ourselves ready; and for what? For me today as I think about this, it is to live the rest of my years in a way that is an encouragement to those around me. I will need to prepare my mind to act on the things that I receive for God’s Word. Control myself and my actions and thoughts and always look forward in hope. Also to be obedient and put aside desires that do not align with God’s truths. Lord, I want to be ready to do what You desire for me to do. I do want to live my life as an obedient child of yours. You are good and I love You. AMEN I will praise You, Lord, to my last breath! You have made so many things for me to enjoy. May You be pleased as I think about You. Psalm 104
