I Will… – Ps 91 Part 4

Scripture: Psalm 91 (Click Link)

14 The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. 15 When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. 16 I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”  (Psalm 91:14-16 NLT)

It’s amazing, but not surprising, how real and relevant Psalm 91 is to the situations we face in our own lives! Even if our situation doesn’t involve a plague or a disaster or warfare on the battlefield, it’s real to us. And just as the Psalmist found hope and courage and comfort from God in the midst of danger and uncertainty, we can find hope in his Word. Let’s finish our four days in Psalm 91 by taking a few minutes to meditate on the promises God makes to us in our uncertain times:

I will rescue those who love me. Father, I love you! When I’m afraid or in trouble I call out to you for help. I know you will rescue me and not leave me stranded!

I will protect those who trust in my name. Father, I trust in your name! You are Almighty, Lord, My Shepherd, My Healer, My Provider, My Refuge, My Shelter.

I will answer when they call on me. Father, I am calling on you right now! Please hear my prayer and answer me in my time of need and assistance.

I will be with them in trouble. Father, I know you didn’t promise I’d never face trouble, but you promised to be with me, to never leave me or forsake me. Thank you for being with me always.

I will rescue and honor them. Father, though my ship runs aground, you will rescue me. Though I feel inadequate and small, you will honor me. You prepare a table for me in the presence of my enemies.

I will reward them with long life and give them my salvation. Father, I know my life is fragile, and life has made me aware of my mortality. I know that the days of my life, many or few, are in your hands. I trust you with my life and I look to you for my salvation.

Prayer:

Father, Thank you for the comfort and encouragement you’ve provided for me in your Word. Thanks for understanding what we’re going through and how we feel. Your Word comforts my soul and gives me peace of mind and heart. I worship you! Amen!
