His Unchanging Plan
Reading: Proverbs 30-31; Psalm 33; Ephesians 1 4 Long ago, even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. 5 His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. And this gave him great pleasure. (Ephesians 1:4-5 NLT) My life is changing. I’m getting older (Are you getting older too, or is it just me?) and I don’t have the physical stamina I used to have. I need more rest and it takes longer to bounce back. (And the bounces aren’t as springy as they once were!) The world around me is changing. I see people becoming more polarized around political ideologies than at any time in my life. At a time when populations of cities and nations are becoming more and more diverse, more and more people seem to be developing an “us” against “them” attitude. How we long for peace and harmony! God’s plan for you and me is not changing! Before the world began, he loved us and chose us. It is his unchanging plan to make us his beloved children through Jesus Christ. Is it not my family God has chosen? Yes, he has made an everlasting covenant with me. His agreement is arranged and guaranteed in every detail. He will ensure my safety and success. (2 Samuel 23:5 NLT) 12 Who are those who fear the Lord? He will show them the path they should choose. 13 They will live in prosperity, and their children will inherit the Promised Land. 14 Friendship with the Lord is reserved for those who fear Him. With them He shares the secrets of His covenant. (Psalm 25:12-14 NLT) “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT) Prayer: Father, Thank you for your unchanging love that prompted you to make an unchanging plan and give us your unchanging promises. As for me and my friends who read this today, we trust in your unchanging love, we accept your unchanging plan, and we receive your unchanging promises. Thank you so much! Amen.
