Scriptures To Help Us In Scary Situations – Don’t Be Afraid Part 8
When we’re uncertain and anxious, we bring our fears, and concerns to God in prayer, we offer them up in faith, and we leave them with him in trust:
3 But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. 4 I praise God for what he has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me? (Psalm 56:3-4)
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. (1 Peter 5:7)
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. 6 Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
We look to God’s word for his promises of protection, provision, and care:
The LORD is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? (Psalm 27:1)
I will be your God throughout your lifetime—until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you. (Isaiah 46:4)
3 But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. 4 I praise God for what he has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me? (Psalm 56:3-4)
We receive his assurance and his peace of mind and heart.
I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. (John 14:27)
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. (Romans 8:38)
And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. (Colossians 3:15)
Prayer:
Father, We will not be afraid! We will give you our fears, we will believe your promises to keep us, and we will receive your gift of peace in mind and heart! In Jesus’ Name
